Another successful day at the polls for Texas REALTORS® is a win for Texas consumers

Texas REALTORS® was once again quite successful in yesterday's Constitutional Amendments election as all five association-supported measures were approved by voters, underscoring our commitment to making a positive impact on behalf of consumers in Texas.

Notably, Proposition 4, which opens the door to the state's most extensive property tax relief package in the state's history, emerged as a resounding victory with an astounding 83.43% of voters rallying behind this crucial measure. Voters' overwhelming support of this measure reaffirms our mission to champion property rights and affordability for Texas residents.

As for the other four proposals supported by the association:

  • Proposition 1, which protects the right to farm in Texas, passed with 79.03% of the vote;

  • Proposition 6, which creates the Texas Water Fund, passed with 77.64% of the vote;

  • Proposition 7, which creates the Texas Energy Fund, passed with 64.92% of the vote;

  • Proposition 8, which creates the Broadband Infrastructure Fund, passed with 69.45% of the vote;

The only proposed amendment to the Texas Constitution on the ballot that did not pass aimed to raise the retirement age of state judges. Texas REALTORS® did not take a position on this proposal.
