The current NAR Code of Ethics cycle deadline is December 31. Members who have not complied with the training requirement by this date will have their membership suspended.
Currently, there are nearly 70,000 Texas REALTORS® who have not yet complied. As RVP's, you can help spread the word to ensure that these members are aware of the requirement and take the training before year end. Here are some key points and resources to share with local associations and members:
Code of Ethics key points for local associations:
Texas REALTORS® has seven classes approved for CE credit that will satisfy the NAR Code of Ethics requirement and will auto-update member records in M1 (for real estate license holders only): https://apps.texasrealestate.com/AB/AE/Resources/Education/search/display-courses-groups.cfm?hours=&group=COE. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the local association to ensure ethics compliance with their members.
Local associations can approve their own courses for ethics compliance.
Local associations can download a list of members who haven’t completed the training during this cycle.
If the local association isn’t able to offer trainings, NAR offers three free online trainings that satisfy the Code of Ethics requirement (and should auto-populate M1): https://www.nar.realtor/about-nar/governing-documents/code-of-ethics/code-of-ethics-training
