Legislative Change Requires TREC to Modify High Value Data Sets, Website License Information

A bill passed during the 88th Texas Legislature requires all licensing agencies to protect the privacy of applicants, current license holders, and past license holders by removing or redacting certain personal details in publicly available information or via public information requests. This includes the TREC website license holder search and high value data sets.

The following items outlined in Senate Bill 510 will no longer be available beginning September 1:

  • Home or mailing address

  • Telephone number

  • Email address

As RVP's, you may receive questions about this from local associations or from brokers who have traditionally used the data for recruitment purposes.

This example shows what the high value data sets will look like beginning September 1.
